Wolfgang, Ruheständler Anfang sechzig, pflegt seit Jahrentrotz Sehbehinderung seine chronisch kranke Frau. Beide sind an das Auf und Ab ihres Zustands gewöhnt, aber ihre Liebe ist trotz des Alltags geblieben. Obwohl ihre Kraft nicht mehr die von früher ist, hat die tief glaubige Erika das Zepter in der Hand. In der durch ihr ständiges Frieren überheizten Wohnung ist Wolfgangs Leidenschaft für Schlagermusik seine einzige Ablenkung, um der Enge zu entfliehen. Als Erikas Zustand sich rapide verschlechtert und er zudem einen schockierenden Befund über den weiteren Verlust seiner Sehkraft erhält, steht Wolfgang zwischen der Pflicht einer langen Ehe und der Freiheit seines Lebensabends. Zum ersten Mal trifft er allein eine schwere Entscheidung für sie beide
Wolfgang, retired and in his early sixties, takes care of his chronically ill wifet for years despite of his visual impairmen. Both are used to the ups and downs of her condition, but their love has remained in spite of daily life. Erika is a deeply religious woman. In the overheated apartment Wolfgang’s passion for pop music is his only distraction to escape the limits of the situation. When Erika’s condition rapidly deteriorated and he also receives a shocking findings about the further losst of his eyesight, Wolfgang stands between the duty of a long marriage and the freedom of his life. For the first time he has to take alone a hard decision for both of them .
